First phase of Trinity Crossing approved

The City of Lacombe is positioned for growth, with council last week setting the stage for new residential and commercial development.

Council approved rezoning for the first phase of Trinity Crossing, a new residential development in north Lacombe.

This will create 41 smaller lots for single-detached dwellings, as well as four public and institutional use parcels.

The Metcalf Ridge Outline Plan was also approved. It contemplates new commercial and residential lots on a 135.52-acre area in the southeast, including highway commercial along Hwy 12, and low-, medium- and high-density residential lots.

“These two new developments are progressing, and once complete will provide for much-needing housing stock in our community,” said Mayor Steve Christie.

“Construction on the Trinity Crossing project is anticipated in the coming months.”

During the first half of 2014, the City of Lacombe issued residential building permits for $7.9 million worth of work.
