Olds College will host rural conference and trade show
Olds College will host Regional Realities and Approaches, the third annual Creating Rural Connections 2012 Conference and Tradeshow, Oct. 11 to 13.
The national conference brings together rural community leaders and members, government representatives from all levels and rural community-based organizations, as well as post-secondary researchers and academics, to examine how regions impact rural development.
The event is sponsored by the college, the Alberta Rural Development Network and the Canadian Rural Revitalization Foundation.
Keynote presentations include an Australian’s efforts to vitalize communities by working from within, a Newfoundland regional developer on challenges and approaches to shape rural Canada’s future and two American academics on the approaches used by successful small and mid-sized communities.
