Cadet corps command change
Inspecting officer Maj. Bill Woollven, left, of Winnipeg chats with cadet Brad Saunders, 14, as Capt. Veronica Duncan, No. 24 Royal Canadian Air Cadet Squadron’s outgoing commanding officer, and Lieut. Carl Belanger, the new incoming commanding officer, inspect the squadron’s 80 cadets at Cormack Armoury on Tuesday night. Belanger was also promoted to captain as part of the ceremony that saw Duncan relinquish command. She isn’t going far, though, since later that night, she took command of No. 7 Royal Canadian Air Cadet Squadron at Hangar 6 at the Red Deer Airport. Both squadrons parade every Tuesday night from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. and welcome new recruits aged 13 and older.
