Alysha Brilla bringing her eclectic mix to Fratters Speakeasy

A Tanzanian-Canadian singer/songwriter who is nominated for a Juno award will perform in Red Deer on May 8.

Alysha Brilla is a singer, songwriter and producer. She brings her eclectic mix of jazz, African, pop, blues and Swahili native tongue to Fratters Speakeasy at 5114 48th St.

Brilla is known for her roots-pop fusion. She was nominated for a Juno award in the adult contemporary album of the year for her debut full-length album In My Head.

She has been in the music industry for more than 10 years and has earned a number of awards, including 2009 Toronto Blues Society Top 3 artist, and 2012 Leading Edge Arts Award (Waterloo Regional Arts Council).

Brilla visits Red Deer halfway through her 11-city Canadian tour, which starts in Winnipeg on April 30 and ends in Waterloo on June 13.
