Small business seminar for artists scheduled for later this month

Rock the Books II, a small business seminar for artists, will be held on Thursday, Feb. 27, in Red Deer.

Janis Richards, formerly with the Canada Revenue Agency, will talk from 6 to 8 p.m., followed by a question-and-answer session at the main-floor meeting room of the Culture Services Centre, at 3827-39th St.

The workshop presented by the Red Deer Arts Council is geared to artists of all genres and is designed to help with tax questions and issues. “Have you ever done your taxes and realized that something is wrong, or something was left out, and it ended up costing you more in the end?” Richards, of JRich Business Services Inc., will instruct on how to do it right.

The cost is $10 for arts council members and $20 for non-members. To register before the Feb. 19 deadline, email info@reddeerartscouncil.ca, or call 403-348-2787.
