Elvis Costello to perform at the ‘Not the White House Correspondents’ Dinner’

WASHINGTON - Is the complete lack of star power during this year’s White House correspondents’ dinner weekend keeping you up at night? No fear. Elvis Costello to the rescue.

WASHINGTON - Is the complete lack of star power during this year’s White House correspondents’ dinner weekend keeping you up at night? No fear. Elvis Costello to the rescue.

The team behind comedian Samantha Bee’s “Not the White House Correspondents’ Dinner” announced on Tuesday that the “Accidents Will Happen” crooner is slated to perform at Bee’s after-party, which is shaping up to be the only shindig in town with a reliable guest list of VIPs.

TBS and New York Magazine will sponsor the after-party to be held at the W Hotel POV Rooftop immediately following Bee’s dinner slash one-hour special taping at DAR Constitution Hall. Costello and his band The Imposters will perform “for a crowd of hardworking journalists honored at the event,” according to a release.

Just which “hardworking” reporters plan to sit in the audience to all this honoring remains to be seen, but we do know that comedians such as Keegan-Michael Key, actor and former White House staffer Kal Penn and former “The Daily Show” correspondent Jessica Williams will be there.
