I write this letter in response to the Aug. 9 article All criminal charges dropped against Innisfail town councillor , by Paul Cowley. I work at the Central Alberta Sexual Assault Support Centre based in Red Deer. We are a centre that provides support services for individuals who are affected by sexual violence.

My frustration level is very high at the moment.

I am deeply disturbed by the letter that ran on Aug. 5 from a reader protesting the Advocate story about a professional hockey player coming out as gay. The article Rebel proud of friend for coming out as gay ran July 20.

This letter is regarding an Aug. 5 article in the Red Deer Advocate , Hinshaw sorry for causing ‘confusion, fear or anger on page 9 .

We need to get on with a COVID vaccination passport as soon as possible. Tie it into the Visa or Mastercard network – or whatever it takes. Don’t doddle. We simply cannot afford the financial cost of another shutdown, which appears almost certain without it. Let’s exercise some common sense and err on the conservative side.

These regular finches usually enjoy our feeders once in the morning and just before sunset.

I am writing this letter in response to the July 20 headline in the Advocate Rebel proud of friend for coming out as gay .

None of us, no matter how successful our personal or professional lives might be, can say we’ve never at some point made an ill-considered or flippant remark or comment. It’s part of life.

City council’s decision to not renew Safe Harbour society site is both dangerous and poorly thought out.

Kath Hoffman’s interview in the Advocate on July 23 has spurred me to finish this letter that I began a couple days ago.
