Welcome Tour of Alberta to our community
Albertans know our province is home to incredible landscapes and amazing skies.
This fall, people all over the world will once again have the opportunity to experience our province’s beauty, when we host the second Tour of Alberta.
From Sept. 2 to 7, this 700-km professional cycling race will thrill cycling fans while showcasing rural Alberta and profiling our province as a tourism destination.
Starting in Calgary, the race will make its way to Lethbridge before running legs from Innisfail to Red Deer, Wetaskiwin to Edmonton, Edmonton to Strathcona County, then finishing in our capital city.
In true Alberta fashion, volunteers across the province will come together to host festivals at the start and finish of each leg of the race.
Albertans will also have the opportunity to get active through local activities like the Ride the Road Tour in Calgary, the ATB Financial Family Ride for CASA in Edmonton and the U-Walk Initiative right across the province.

Our government is proud to be a major sponsor of the race.
In addition to providing funding for the festivals, Alberta government staff will be helping local organizers showcase the best in their communities, as well as providing logistics support and road security.
We’ll also make sure people know about any traffic interruptions associated with the race by sharing information via 511 Alberta.
Please join me on Sept. 4 at 3:45 p.m. on the ATB Financial Stage at 4736 50th Ave., as we welcome the Tour of Alberta to Red Deer.
Help us celebrate a world-class competition set in our province’s world-class landscapes.
