Memorial bench was stolen, memories remain

Seven and one half years ago, we lost our precious daughter/granddaughter at birth.

To ease our pain, we purchased a tree in her memory at Parkland Memorial Gardens.

Beside the tree, we placed a beautiful concrete garden bench.

Over the years, we have all gone out to the tree and spent time sitting on the bench. We have cried and smiled while sitting on the bench. We have tried to envision what a beautiful young lady she would be today while sitting on the bench. We have told her a thousand times how much she is loved and missed while sitting on the bench.

Sometime in April or May, someone decided they liked her bench and removed it from beside her tree.

If the person or persons responsible for removing this beautiful, very heavy bench reads this letter, let it be known you have reinforced our belief that there are truly selfish, self-centered and uncaring people in this journey through life.

We are good people and may someday replace the bench.

For all the memories that go with the bench; we hope you enjoy sitting on it.

The one thing you cannot take from us are our memories.

If the person or persons responsible for the bench’s disappearance reads this letter, please return the bench and restore our faith that people are good.
