Accused in Red Deer golf club fraud to make plea
Pleas are to be entered next month for a former employee accused of altering the books at the Red Deer Golf and Country Club.
Bonnie Howell, 65, was charged late in October by Red Deer City RCMP, who investigating a complaint that nearly $1 million was missing from the golf club’s accounts.
A former bookkeeper for the club, Howell is charged with theft, fraud and altering documents.
Her lawyer appeared for her at the case management office of Red Deer provincial court on Wednesday to set a date to enter her pleas.
Howell is to return to court on Feb. 22.
She faces one count of fraud over $5,000, one count of theft over $5,000 and one count of falsification of books and records.
