Blackfalds woman charged with fraud, theft
RCMP have charged a Blackfalds woman with allegedly defrauding and stealing hundreds of thousands of dollars from her employer, Red Deer Toyota.
Charges were laid on Thursday after a lengthy investigation by Blackfalds RCMP that was launched following a complaint from the auto dealership in Gasoline Alley.
It is alleged that the money was taken between Nov. 22, 2005, and April 1, 2010 through a combination of fraud and theft. The suspect served as the dealership’s comptroller and was in charge of its finances.
Brenda-Lee Marie Campbell, 48, has been charged with two counts of fraud over $5,000, one count of uttering a forged document and one count of falsification of books and documents.
Campbell has been released on a recognizance and is scheduled to appear in Red Deer provincial court on Feb. 14.
