Calgary police charge janitor with sexual assault involving student
CALGARY — Calgary police have charged a man with sexual assault after a seven-year-old girl said that she had been inappropriately touched by a relief janitor at her school.
Police say the alleged touching happened on Oct. 23 and they began investigating the next day.
Chi Shing Tam, also known as Simon Tam, faces one count each of sexual assault and sexual interference with a child under 16 years old.
The 62-year-old has been released and is to appear in court on Dec. 19.
