City releases new snow plowing schedule

New year, new snow, new residential plowing schedule.

The city will begin plowing residential roadways starting Friday at 8 a.m. to deal with more of the white stuff having decided to join the snow party in Red Deer over the last few days. City crews will work Friday and Saturday and then again from Monday to Saturday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. in residential neighbourhoods, until complete.

Crews will conduct surface snow plowing on residential roadways, placing windrows on both sides of the street. In a release, the city said residents should “be prepared to remove vehicles from residential roadways, where possible, starting Friday morning and over the next several days as residential plowing will happen quickly. “

Plows will work around vehicles parked on the street, but drivers of those vehicles will then have to contend with windrows.

The city will provide daily updates and lists of neighbourhoods scheduled to be worked on the following day at and through its social media accounts.

Crews will continue clearing residential lanes today, according to the release.
