Crews quickly quell fire

Red Deer Emergency Services fire crews quickly put out a fire in the upstairs suite in Glendale on Saturday night.

The residents were at home and were able to safely escape at the time of the fire.

No injuries were reported.

Fire crews responded to the call of a structure fire at of 90 Glendale Boulevard around 7:45 p.m. on Saturday.

Crews contained the fire to the upstairs suite which sustained minimal smoke damage. A water pipe broke during the fire which resulted in some water damage.

Glendale Boulevard was closed to traffic from Grant Street to Greig Drive for about an hour to allow the crews to fight the fire.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
