Engineers chosen by Red Deer County
Tagish Engineering has been awarded the contract to provide engineering services to Red Deer County.
The Red Deer-based company was among three companies short-listed and ranked on a points system by county staff.
A report to council says the company’s rates are similar to those paid for those services previously.
Coun. David Hoar said he was pleased that companies were assessed on more than just the lowest bidder.
Marty Campbell, the county’s director of operations, said the contract would be worth in the region of $3 million a year based on the county’s $35 million worth of construction projects.
The contract is for three years with a two-year option.
