First of three draws for Kraft Hockeyville game tickets takes place Saturday

The first of three draws for tickets to the Kraft Hockeyville Arizona Coyotes and Calgary Flames pre-season game in Sylvan Lake on Sept. 24 takes place on Saturday.

Other draws are set for Sept. 6 and Sept. 7 at the Sylvan Lake Multiplex, where the big game will be played.

Sylvan Lake won the rights to the game and $100,000, which is going towards a new multiplex, when it came out on top in last hockey season’s Kraft Hockeyville contest.

Four days of celebrations are planned, beginning with a Kraft Hockeyville Fun Fair on Sept. 21, followed by sports days, community barbecues and other community events. More details on these free non-ticketed events will be released in coming days.

Draws are open to residents of Sylvan Lake as determined with a T4S postal code who have reached the age of majority by Sept. 15.

Also eligible are people who live outside Sylvan Lake yet have one or more children registered in a Sylvan school or Sylvan-based sports program and have reached the age of majority.

A limited number of tickets will be available in a separate draw to supporters who are residents of Clearwater, Red Deer, Lacombe, Ponoka, Mountain View and Stettler Counties and incorporated municipalities within their boundaries.

Each eligible entrant can submit one ballot in the box marked for residents or supporters, not both. There are 600 tickets available.

Ballots can be dropped off on Aug. 30 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., on Sept. 6 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and on Sept. 7 noon to 4 p.m.

The official draw will take place at the Multiplex from 5 to 7 p.m. on Sept. 10.
