Happy flash mobs planned

Clap along Red Deer if you feel happiness is the truth.

A local marketing and design service hopes anyone and everyone will be a part of their tribute to the popular Pharrell Williams song Happy.

Looking to join a growing number of YouTube videos paying homage to the song, Red Deerians are invited to get in on the action with video shoots happening in Red Deer throughout the week.

As part of it, a flash mob has been planned for Thursday at 12:30 p.m. at Veterans Park, at Ross Street and 49th Avenue.

According to a release, the video will have about 50 to 70 scenes showing people dancing to the song around Red Deer.

The video is expected to be released sometime in the first week of May.

“Don’t be surprised if you see people suddenly start dancing while crossing a street or who knows where else,” said Kerstin Heuer, flash mob organizer.
