Hearing into killing set for 2014

A preliminary hearing will be held early next year for a Saddle Lake man charged with killing a youth at Ma-Me-O Beach last summer.

Perry Johnson, 17, was found suffering life-threatening injuries by Hobbema RCMP who responding to complaints of a fight at the Pigeon Lake Reserve on Aug. 30.

Johnson died the next day.

Chris Norbert, 22, was arrested early in September and charged with second-degree murder.

He has pleaded not guilty and asked for a preliminary hearing, scheduled for Jan. 26-31, 2014, in Wetaskiwin.
