Holiday hours in effect for many Red Deer services
Holiday hours will be in effect for Red Deer transit, recreation facilities and city offices starting on Christmas Eve (Tuesday Dec. 24).
Red Deer transit will be operating on a Sunday/Holiday schedule during Christmas week and New Year’s Day.
There is no city transit service or county Action Bus service on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. The county Action Bus will not run on Boxing Day.
Transit Customer Service phone lines and Action Bus phone lines will be closed on all three days. Limited pre-booked Action Bus service will be provided on these days.
On Christmas Eve the last bus will leave from the City Centre terminal is 6:15 p.m. The last bus departs from the Bower Place Shopping Centre for Route 12A is at 5:00 p.m.
Transit service will operate on Sunday/Holiday hours on Boxing Day. The first departure from Sorensen Station is at 8:45 a.m. and the last departure is at 6:45 p.m.
There is no service on Route 12/12A.
On Christmas Eve, the Collicutt Centre and the G. H. Dawe Community Centre will close at 3 p.m. The Michener Aquatic Centre closes at 1 p.m. The Recreation Centre pool, fitness and meeting rooms are closed on Christmas Eve, but administration offices and the cashier will be open from 8 a.m. to noon.
All city recreation facilities are closed on Christmas and New Year’s Day.
On Boxing Day, the Collicutt Centre and the G. H. Dawe Community Centre are both open from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. On New Year’s Eve the two centres will close at 3 p.m.
Michener Aquatic Centre is closed on Boxing Day.
On New Year’s Day The Collicutt Centre and the G. H. Dawe Community Centre are open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Riverbend Gold and Recreation Area Clubhouse is open on Christmas Eve Day and Boxing Day from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., but remains closed on Christmas Day.
City hall administration offices will be closed on Christmas, Boxing Day and on New Year’s Day.
