Hunting death trial death pushed back to later this week
A Lacombe man who was charged with killing his hunting companion has had his trial pushed back to later this week.
A two-week block of dates had been reserved for the Red Deer Court of Queen’s Bench trial of Herbert Stanley Meister, 60.
He was charged in connection with the 2009 shooting of Philip Moore, 55, of Bentley.
Meister’s trial did not start as planned on Tuesday. It’s now slated for Thursday — and a quicker resolution must be expected, as this is the only date reserved for the Court of Queen’s Bench matter.
