Lacombe takes shot at Guiness record book

Needing almost 900 bodies to break the record for the largest human Christmas Tree, the residents of Lacombe came together Friday.

Officially 890 people poured onto the ME Global athletic field in the city decked out in red, green, blue and yellow plastic bags to break the Guinness Book of Records for the largest tree.

This was just one of several events planned for the three-day Light Up The Night Festival this week.

The festival continues today with the 16th annual Christmas Faire, which runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Lacombe Memorial Centre, and a craft fair runs from 10 a.m. to noon at the Public Library. See related video at
