Red Deer man killed in construction accident
A 23-year-old Red Deer man was killed in a construction accident in Edmonton Monday.
Occupational Health and Safety spokesman Chris Chodan said the worker with Derrick Concrete and Cutting Ltd. was fatally injured about 10:15 a.m. The name of the worker has not been released.
The man was working on cutting a door through a 18-centimetre-thick cement wall at a job site at 8825 51st Ave. when the slab fell on him, said Chodan Tuesday.
The man was taken to a hospital in Edmonton where he died about 1:30 p.m.
The accident is still under investigation.
