Red Deer trash and blue box pickup back to back lanes

Red Deer trash and blue box collection is returning to back lanes.

Starting on April 14, crews will pick up garbage and recycling in the regular collection spot along with yard waste.

As a temporary measure in January, all collection was moved to front streets. Record snowfall made it difficult for trucks to navigate the back lanes.

Households that have always received front collection will see no change in pickup location.

If residents miss the message that it’s time to switch back in time for their regular collection day, they are asked to put their garbage out back on the next scheduled collection day.

The collection schedule will not change.

Yard waste collection will also start on April 14 and run to Nov. 14.

Residents are asked to place yard waste in garbage cans marked with yard waste stickers, which are available from the City of Red Deer, or in paper yard waste bags.

Small branches should be bundled and tied with string.
