Woman sentenced for role in home invasion

A Sylvan Lake woman was sentenced on Thursday to four years in prison for her part in a home invasion at a rural residence.

Ashley Dawn Chambers, 24, was tried in Red Deer Court of Queen’s Bench on Tuesday in connection with her involvement in the incident at the home of Sylvan Lake business owner Randy Safronovich and his partner, Rita Haynes, on June 3, 2013.

Chambers briefly held a loaded Colt 45 gun on the residents during the robbery.

On Thursday, Justice Donald Lee found Chambers guilty of robbery with a firearm and unlawful confinement. She was given four-year concurrent sentences.
