Red Deer will be one of the sites where the leader of Alberta’s official Opposition will host a pre-budget town hall meeting.

NDP Leader Rachel Notley will be in Red Deer on Sept. 19.

She is calling on Premier Jason Kenney to release the blue ribbon panel report on government spending and to “stop building a secret budget that will make cuts and hurt families.”

Albertans are being left in the dark, Notley said in a press release Tuesday.

“Jason Kenney has blown a massive hole in the budget by giving huge tax breaks to his wealthy friends and insiders. This government will need to find a way to pay for that, and those decisions will affect people’s lives. Albertans deserve to have a say,” said Notley.

There are five other locations for town hall meetings: Edmonton, Grand Prairie, Lethbridge, Fort McMurray and Calgary.
