A motorist observed weaving across the centre line on Hwy 2 was pulled over and charged with drug offences.
On Wednesday, Innisfail RCMP freeway patrol officers observed a vehicle that was “failing to maintain the centre lane.”
After pulling the car over and approaching, a police officer observed a zip-lock bag of marijuana on the passenger seat.
The driver from British Columbia was arrested for possession of a controlled substance. Innisfail RCMP officers searched the vehicle and located a quantity of cocaine, marijuana, hash, as well as a scale and a total of $7000 in cash.
Police are warning that illegal drug activities impact communities, escalate health care and emergency costs, and can endanger public and road safety.
