Bashaw RCMP are investigating a fatal collision Saturday afternoon.
Police were called to a two-vehicle collision on Highway 12 and Highway 601, near Alix, at 12:45 p.m.
Initial investigation indicated that a vehicle heading northbound on Highway 601 was struck by a vehicle travelling east on Highway 12, causing the northbound vehicle to roll over.
The 58-year-old driver of the northbound vehicle was declared dead at the scene. The driver of the eastbound vehicle was transported to hospital by STARS Air Ambulance in serious but stable condition.
The RCMP Collision Analyst attended the scene to assist in the investigation.
