A man has been charged with illegal possession or trafficking in government documents by Red Deer RCMP.

RCMP said they found the 44-year-old man in possession of stolen identification and break-in tools in the early morning hours of Wednesday.

He was located downtown Red Deer shortly after 2 a.m. and police determined that he was breaching curfew conditions imposed by the courts. Incidental to his arrest on that charge, RCMP located a number of pieces of stolen identification and stolen cheques in his possession, along with break-in tools.

He is also charged with failure to comply with conditions of a recognizance and possession of break-in instruments.

He was slated to appear in court on Thursday.
