Canadian punker and cancer survivor Bif Naked is coming to Red Deer this month.

The “Queen of Punk’s” newest release is, Broke Into Your Car, available through Spotify.

Naked, who performs at Red Deer’s Bo’s Bar and Stage with Buckcherry on Oct. 11, said “This is a love song, even though it makes reference to a felony or mischief.”

The platinum-selling Canadian rocker and human rights activist explained the tune is about the lengths a smitten person — “in this case, moi” — will go to gain the attention of their crush.

The song follows 2020’s release of Jim. Both tunes serve as prime preview into Bif’s forthcoming full-length offering, Champion, her eleventh studio release.

“When writing new songs for Champion, I always try to meet every song where it is, both in style and vibe,” she shares. “I Broke Into Your Car …is definitely a departure from the rock songs on the rest of the record, but love the chance to do lots of different things on each release, and Champion is no different.”

Naked has become a passionate social advocate since being diagnosed with breast cancer at age 37.

With her life’s journey tattooed over her body, she has a unique ability to transform true life stories of overcoming adversity into song lyrics.

Born in secret to teenagers living in India (she had a Canadian birth mother and a British birth father), Naked was adopted by missionaries and moved to North America. She began what she ironically recalled as a “charmed life.”

Targeted by girl gangs and facing other abusive situations, she escaped by joining a punk rock band. While there were some drugs and downward spirals, Naked found her voice as a solo artist and started her own record company.

At age 23, she became an international recording artist. Naked has released nine albums and 21 videos so far, as well as embarking on international tours, and acting in several feature film and television roles.

She is also the author of the best-selling memoir I, Bificus.
