Charges dropped in O’Chiese stabbing

Assault charges against an O’Chiese man dropped after preliminary inquiry

Charges have been dropped against a man in connection with a January stabbing on the O’Chiese Reserve.

Following a recent preliminary hearing, two charges of aggravated assault and one charge of assault were dismissed against Keith Beaverbones, 24, of O’Chiese First Nation.

Beaverbones had been charged after three people were allegedly stabbed during an altercation on the reserve northwest of Rocky Mountain House in the early hours of Jan. 4.

Two people were taken to hospital and treated and released. The third did not require hospital treatment.

A young offender was also charged.
