The City of Lacombe has closed its outdoor ice surfaces due to unseasonably warm weather.

The city said Cranna Lake, Royal Oak and Iron Wolf storm water pond ice surfaces have been closed for recreational activities until further notice.

The outdoor rink is also closed.

City staff will monitor the surfaces to determine when ice thickness is sufficient for use. Ice must be a minimum thickness of 2o centimetres (20 inches).

Thin ice signs have also been posted at the storm water pond in the Lacombe Off-Leash Dog Park. Pet owners are advised to keep their dogs away from the ice that may become unstable at any time.

Residents are asked to obey all posted signs.
