Despite finding a 31-year-old man dead in a burnt vehicle, RCMP issued a statement saying the incident was not criminal.
The body of the Stettler man was found on Dec. 10 at 11:43 a.m. in a rural area near Stettler in a burnt vehicle.
In a Thursday release, Stettler RCMP said in consultation with the RCMP Major Crimes Unit and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner that the man’s death was not criminal.
Police said the investigation is ongoing, but the public need not be concerned about any criminality in relation to the “unfortunate event.”
