A fog advisory is in place for the Red Deer, Lacombe, Ponoka and Stettler areas.

Environment Canada said an area of dense fog has begun to form over parts of the region. Dense fog will likely persist until later this morning.
If visibility is reduced drivers should turn on their lights and maintain a safe following distance.
