Police arrested three suspects after a stolen SUV was involved in a three-vehicle collision in downtown Red Deer on Tuesday afternoon.

A fourth suspect is still being sought by police in connection with the 1 p.m. collision. RCMP requested on Tuesday afternoon that the public avoid the area around the Pioneer Lodge area in Parkvale, where the search continues for a suspect who was wearing a blue hoodie.

RCMP allege a vehicle, which had been reported stolen on Feb. 16, fled police earlier in the morning and was then involved in a gas and dash about noon.

The vehicle was spotted again near 43rd Street and 49th Avenue after it collided with two other vehicles. All inside fled from the scene.

No one was injured in the collision.

Two men and a woman, who fled in different directions, were arrested within blocks of the collision.

Gaetz Avenue northbound around 37th Street was reduced to one lane as police searched for the remaining culprit. Trailheads in the area were also closed off to the public as the search continued around 32nd Street, Kin Kanyon and parts of Rotary Park.

Residents are warned not to engage with any suspicious person but to call RCMP immediately at 403-343-5575 if any questionable person or activity is seen.
