Two people are dead after truck rolls in central Saskatchewan pond

SHELL LAKE, Sask. — Two people are dead in central Saskatchewan after a truck rolled over into a pond.

RCMP say a third person in the truck managed to survive by breaking a window and climbing free.

Police, fire and farmers using tractors managed to haul the truck out of the water near the community of Shell Lake.

A woman was found dead in the driver’s seat and a man’s body was found in the water.

No names were released, but the dead man was from Shell Lake and the dead woman was from the Ahtahakoop First Nation.

The lone survivor is from Prince Albert.
