Olds College gets $1.6 million from Alberta Innovates for cow-calf entrepreneurial program

Olds College will receive $1.6 million for an agricultural technologies project from Alberta Innovates.

Flokk Systems is an an emerging Agricultural Technology company, developing high utility and affordable solutions focused on the needs of cow-calf producers.

“Olds College has been instrumental in the development of Flokk’s product, providing early consultation and input to the design,” said Mark Olson, President, Flokk Systems Inc. “We’re pleased to see Olds College… receive additional funding to help Alberta-based entrepreneurs succeed.”

The funds will facilitate the completion of a market validation study by Olds College business students, providing valuable industry contacts. “Their work has enabled us to move on to the vital stage of on-farm testing and evaluation,” added Olson.

The $1.6 million investment will be made over three years. It’s part of nearly $19 million that Alberta Innovates is investing in various Alberta communities.
