Friday summer nights in downtown Red Deer are always a lively affair with the return of the Ross Street Patio Parties.

Starting on Friday, four patio parties will be held throughout the summer featuring free live music performances. At 5 p.m. this Friday, St. James Gate will perform.

“The downtown really comes to life when performers take the stage, and the atmosphere on the patio is not to be missed,” said Caryn Ouwehand, Red Deer special events programer.

The other parties are scheduled for July 14, Aug. 11 and Aug. 25 from 5 to 8 p.m. The Red Deer Downtown Business Association supports further programming Tuesday and Thursday during the lunch hour and Wednesday evenings. All the events are free to the public.
