Police searching for truck thief in Mountview

Stolen truck was abandoned about 1:30 p.m. and suspect with Mohawk hairstyle fled on foot

Red Deer RCMP are currently on scene throughout the Mountview neighbourhood searching for a suspect who abandoned a stolen truck and fled police on foot.

RCMP located the truck at around 1:30 p.m. and the suspect abandoned it and fled shortly afterward.

Police are searching the area between 40A Avenue and 43 Avenue, and 39 Street and 44 Street and are searching for a Caucasian man with a Mohawk hairstyle.

Police do not believe there is any public danger, but ask drivers and pedestrians to avoid the area to avoid traffic delays and to allow police room to complete their search.
