Red Deer RCMP need help identifying a male suspect who allegedly passed counterfeit U.S. currency several times in the last few days during multiple trips to local businesses.

The suspect was seen in a local grocery store on three occasions between Tuesday and Wednesday where he passed counterfeit $50 bills.

The bills appear to be colour photocopies on good quality paper, and some bills have been cut carelessly. Serial numbers on multiple bills seized by RCMP are MG56216684A and MG56922425A.

RCMP encourage anyone who deals with cash to scrutinize bills before accepting them, and to educate themselves about the security features on Canadian and U.S. currency by visiting www.bankofcanada.ca and https://uscurrency.gov/.

Anyone with information about this investigation is asked to contact Red Deer RCMP at 403-343-5575 or contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or report it online at www.tipsubmit.com.
