CN train derails east of Edmonton
FORT SASKATCHEWAN — Canadian National Railway investigators are trying to determine why one of its trains derailed northeast of Edmonton.
CN spokesman Kevin says the derailment happened at about 3 p.m. Sunday near Fort Saskatchewan.
The 64-car train was moving at a slow speed when eight of the cars went off the tracks.
One of the cars tipped over, spilling fertilizer.
CN says the fertilizer is not considered dangerous.
There were no injuries.
