Calgary school bus driver picked up kids in her own car: wants job back
CALGARY — A Calgary school bus driver who used her own vehicle to pick up kids when the bus broke down says she hopes to get her job back.
Kendra Lindon was fired last month by bus operator First Student Canada.
She was driving home Feb.12 to pick up her son after her school bus broke down.
She picked up five other students who were waiting at bus stops in bitterly cold temperatures with wind chills of -37 C.
Lindon says she’s not sure what to do next, but plans to contact lawyers.
She says she has heard nothing from the company since she was fired.
“I have been contacted by lawyers and Employment Standards called me. I’ve gotten lots of calls and I have lots of options,” Lindon said.
