Freezing rain warning issued for Central Alberta

Freezing rain warning issued for Central Alberta

A warm front moving in from southern B.C. combined with cold arctic air over southern Alberta generated freezing rain through southern and central portions of the province Wednesday morning.

Freezing rain is currently expected in the Brooks and Medicine Hat regions and will move into Central Alberta by this evening.

Portions of Central Alberta will remain in freezing rain into Thursday morning.

Tonight’s Environment Canada forecast calls for light snow mixed with freezing rain ending near midnight.

Highway conditions are available through AMA at 1-877-AMA-HWYS (1-877-262-4997), online at http://www.ama.ab.ca/road-reports/highway-cameras and Twitter @AMARoadReports
