Pilot injured in ultra-light plane crash near Calgary

STRATHMORE — A pilot has been injured in the crash of a single-seat ultra-light plane near Calgary.

RCMP say witnesses watched the aircraft take off from the Indus Airport near Strathmore and climb to about 120 metres.

They then saw the aircraft go down beyond the horizon.

Searchers found the plane in a field about two kilometres south of the airport.

The male pilot was airlifted to Calgary for medical treatment.
