Someone wins major lottery prize in Alberta

EDMONTON — A jackpot worth nearly $46 million has been won by the holder of a single lottery ticket in Alberta.

The winning numbers came up in Wednesday’s Lotto 649 draw.

The Western Canada Lottery Corporation doesn’t say where the ticket was purchased, or if the jackpot will go to one person or be shared by a group.

The total value of the jackpot is $45,677,260.50.

The corporation also says someone in Edmonton won $250,000 in Wednesday’s Lotto 649 Extra draw.
