Stolen backpack returned to family of man who jumped in front of train
EDMONTON — Edmonton police say a backpack belonging to the family of a young man who committed suicide has been returned to his family.
Jonathan Langille, who was 19, died last Wednesday after he jumped in front of an LRT train.
The college student had left his backpack on the station platform and a woman left with it after he jumped.
Langille’s mother later pleaded through the media for the bag’s return.
She said his it contained personal belongings she wanted back, as well as his journal with possible clues as to why he wanted to kill himself.
Police say a woman who saw Langille’s family on the news contacted them and made arrangements to return the backpack.
