Tornado touches down near Provost,

PROVOST — RCMP say a tornado contributed to a collision between two semi-trailer units near Provost, Alta., though no one was hurt.

Police say a tornado touched down Thursday at the same time a second twister was still in the air.

The heavy dust created zero visibility, which resulted in the collision on Highway 41.

There was also heavy damaging wind and rain in the areas of Metiskow and Czar, with numerous trees being uprooted and knocking out power in Provost.

Heavy winds blew material off the roof of the new Provost arena but there were no reports of injuries.
