Minor changes to the Queens Business Park Industrial area structure plan were approved by Red Deer city council.

At their Monday meeting, council approved some small changes to the original structure plan, limited to stormwater reserve management.

The changes provide better protection for the wetland and downstream water bodies within the industrial park, located on the west side of the QEII.

At the centre of the approved amendment is a stormwater management facility on 75th Avenue south of Hwy 11A.

The impact of the move means an increase in the net developable area from 99.8 hectares to 101.17 hectares and a decrease of the environmental reserve from 13.10 hectares to 11.73 hectares.
