For seventh time in four years Red Deer brings a new Municipal Affairs Minister up to speed.

City of Red Deer should have no problem with the wording on a visit invitation for the newest Municipal Affairs Minister.

After all, Shaye Anderson will be the seventh minister to be invited to check out Red Deer since city council was elected in 2013.

Anderson was appointed in Premier Rachel Notley’s cabinet shuffle last week.

Mayor Tara Veer said the lack of continuity means the city has to put in additional time, energy and resources bringing a new minister up to speed.

“Having said that, every Municipal Affairs Minister has made themselves available to us.”

But with so many people moving through the job, the city is concerned it’s not getting as much “traction” on its asks as it would if it had a longer relationship with a minister.
