A Red Deer man wanted in connection with a murder last month is in custody.

RCMP say Quentin Lee Strawberry was arrested Tuesday night on his outstanding warrant in connection with the homicide of Joseph Junior Alfred Gallant, 45, and remains in police custody.

Strawberry has been charged with second-degree murder and assault causing bodily harm.

Jennifer Lee Caswell, 37, who faces the same charges, remains at large.

RCMP were called to a Grandview home around midnight on March 29. Neighbours phoned 911 after Gallant, who had been stabbed, called for help. The father of two died later in hospital.

Neighbours said Gallant had been living with his wife. The couple was described as quiet and good neighbours. Gallant had come to Red Deer for work from Prince Edward Island less than four months before his death.

Anyone with information on Caswell’s whereabouts, is asked to call Red Deer RCMP at 403-343-5575 or your local police.
