Red Deer RCMP arrested a Red Deer woman for impaired driving after the car she was driving rear-ended a truck in a low-speed collision in the city on Tuesday morning.

Red Deer RCMP arrested a Red Deer woman for impaired driving after the car she was driving rear-ended a truck in a low-speed collision in the city on Tuesday morning.

The collision occurred in the area of 54th Street and 64th Avenue shortly before 9 a.m. A Peace Officer was in the vicinity and immediately responded to the collision, which occurred at low speeds and did not result in any injuries.

Traffic was only briefly impacted, but the subsequent RCMP investigation determined the driver had a blood alcohol content of almost three times the legal limit.

The 40-year-old Red Deer woman will face charges of impaired driving.
